Weapons and military equipment

The antique weapons and military equipment on display date back to the period of Ottoman rule in Macedonia. The oldest examples of weapons in the collection are: flail mace, mace, battle axe, balta (Turkish axe), and the halberd, which date back to the 15th to 18th century. Judging by the style and manner of making, this weapon is thought to have been of Eastern origin, although some of the specimens show impurities and influences from the West.
